    Re: دوره جدید پیشرفته زبان...

    unforgetable memory
Hi dear fatemeh I really appritiate to be one member of this site.
I am very eager to improve my english so can get better in my job and be a good researcher.
once I met my feance, was 17 december 2010. We both work in the same institue but in different cities. We are now far from each other. I am from tabriz and he is from marand. I work in ahar water and wastewater institue and amin works in shabestar's.at that time we both have class for new applied workers.
for a period of a week he felt in love and I was surprised when heard about his love.at that time I couldn't think about marriage and being a wife. honestly Ihate it . but then by consulting whit my mom and brothers I can change my mind to engage with him.
we have lots of diffrences but we can get along easy soon and he was really worried about religon becauce I used to be very mohajabe. ( thats because of being in a govenmental orgonasation in iran ; as you know we have to be closed)we spend lots of time to argue about tis but after about 4 month he accepted that I have to be like that in office but when for the first time he saw me in caffeeshop he got shocked and could not say any for a while.
now when he came to me I really accept him warmly and he mentions that if I knew you were like this I would come sooner and would not argue about nonsenses.
please tell me if I can be your follower in this case of study.

    Re: دوره جدید پیشرفته زبان...

    LESSON 6
    If sentences
There are four main types of if sentences in English, often called conditional sentences.

These sentences are in two halves, with the if part in one half and the other part where you can use words such as can, will, may, might, could and would.

If + present form + present form

"If you heat ice, it melts."

In this type of sentence, you could use when instead of if. It's always true that when you heat ice it melts. This is why this type of sentence is sometimes called a zero conditional.

If + present form, + will, can or may

"If I am late, I will call you."

"If you need me, you can call me at home."

"If it gets any hotter, we may have a thunder storm."

In these sentences (or first conditional sentences), there is a strong possibility that the first part (coming after if) is going to happen. The second part says what will happen as a result.

If + past form + would, could or might

"If I got a pay rise, I would buy a new car."

"If you left your job, you could travel around the world."

"If you were nicer to him, he might lend you the money."

In these sentences, the first part with if shows that the event is unlikely to happen. In English, we often use this type of sentence (called a second conditional) to talk about hypotheses, or imaginary future events.

For example, "If I was President of the United States, I would change some laws." But I know that I'll never be the President of the USA – I'm just saying what I would do if I was in his/her position. Note: in American English, it is correct to use "if I were…" In British English, it's more common to say "if I was…"

If + past perfect + would/might/could have done

"If I had revised, I would have passed my exams."

"If we had gone out earlier, we might have got to the cinema on time."

"If you had told me there was a problem, I could have helped."

In these sentences (or third conditional sentences), the first part of the sentence with if didn't happen. So there is no possibility of the second part of the sentence happening. I didn't revise, so I didn't pass my exams and there is nothing I can do about it now. English speakers use this type of sentence to show how things could have been different.

Complete the conditional sentences ( the words in bracket)(type I, II and III)

    1. Once upon a time the cat bit the mouse's tail off. “Give me back my tail,” said the mouse. And the cat said, “Well, I (give) you back your tail if you fetched me some milk. But that's impossible to do for a little mouse like you.”
    2. The mouse, however, went to the cow. “The cat (give / only) me back my tail if I fetch her some milk.”
    3. And the cow said, “Well, I would give you milk if you (get) me some hay. But that's impossible to do for a little mouse like you.”
    4. The mouse, however, went to the farmer. “The cat will only give me back my tail if the cow (give) me some milk. And the cow (only / give) me milk if I get her some hay.”
    5. And the farmer said, “Well, I would give you hay if you (bring) me some meat. But that's impossible to do for a little mouse like you.”
    6. The mouse, however, went to the butcher. “The cat will only give me back my tail if the cow (give) me milk. And the cow will only give me milk if she (get) some hay. And the farmer (only / give) me hay if I get him some meat.”
    7. And the butcher said, “Well, I would give you meat if you (make) the baker bake me a bread. But that's impossible to do for a little mouse like you.”

    continued.....

    1. The mouse, however, went to the baker. “The cat (give / only) me back my tail if I fetch her some milk. And the cow (give / not) me milk if I don't get her hay. And the farmer will only give me hay if the butcher (have) some meat for him. And the butcher will not give me meat if you (bake / not) him a bread.”
    2. And the baker said, “Well, I (give) you bread if you promise never to steal my corn or meal.”
    3. The mouse promised not to steal, and so the baker gave the mouse bread, the mouse gave the butcher bread. The butcher gave the mouse meat, the mouse gave the farmer meat. The farmer gave the mouse hay, the mouse gave the cow hay. The cow gave the mouse milk, the mouse gave the cat milk. And the cat gave the mouse her tail back.
    4. But imagine what would have happened otherwise:
    5. If the mouse (promised / not) never to steal corn or meal, the baker (not/give) the mouse bread.
    6. If the baker (not / give) the mouse bread, the butcher (refuse) to give her meat for the farmer.
    7. If the butcher (refuse) her any meat, the farmer (not / be) willing to give the mouse hay.
    8. If the farmer (not / be) willing to give the mouse hay, the mouse (not / receive) milk from the cow.
    9. If the mouse (not / receive) milk from the cow, she (not / get) back her tail.
